Indication:
Bilastin is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic conditions such as hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and urticaria (hives). It works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and itchy skin.
Composition:
Bilastin 20 mg Tablet: Each tablet contains 20 mg Bilastine INN.
Bilastin kids Tablet: Each mouth dissolving tablet contains 10 mg Bilastine INN.
Bilastin Syrup: Each 5 ml contains 12.5 mg Bilastine INN
Dogase & Adminstration:
Adults & Adolescents (12 years and over):
- 20 mg tablet once daily for symptomatic relief of allergic rhinitis, urticaria, and allergic rhinoconjunctivitis.
- The maximum recommended daily dose is 20 mg (1 tablet), and this should not be exceeded.
- If a dose is missed, take the next scheduled dose. Do not take an extra dose.
- The 20 mg Bilastine tablet (1 tablet) should be swallowed with water on an empty stomach for optimal exposure to Bilastine.
Children between 6 to 11 years:
- 10 mg mouth-dissolving tablet once daily for symptomatic relief of allergic rhinitis, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, and urticaria.
- The mouth-dissolving tablet is for oral use only. It should be placed in the mouth, where it will dissolve rapidly in saliva and can be easily swallowed.
- Alternatively, the tablet can be dissolved in a spoonful of water before being swallowed.
- The maximum recommended daily dose for children 6 to 11 years is 10 mg (1 tablet). If a dose is missed, take the next scheduled dose. Do not take an extra dose.
For children aged 2 to 5 years (approximate weight 10-20 kg): 2.5 mg per day.
- This would typically translate to around 0.125 to 0.25 mg/kg body weight per day as well.
Pharmacology:
Bilastine is a second-generation antihistamine that works by selectively blocking histamine receptors (H1 receptors) in the body. By inhibiting histamine, it helps reduce allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and swelling.
Side Effects:
Common side effects of Bilastine include headaches, dry mouth, and drowsiness (though it is less sedating than first-generation antihistamines). If you experience severe side effects such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, seek immediate medical attention.
Drug Interaction:
Bilastine may interact with other medications, particularly certain antifungals, antibiotics, and drugs that affect liver enzymes. These interactions can alter the effectiveness of Bilastine or increase the risk of side effects.
- Antifungal Medications:
Bilastine may interact with antifungal medications like Ketoconazole and Itraconazole. These drugs can increase the levels of Bilastine in the blood, potentially enhancing its effects or side effects. - Antibiotics:
Some antibiotics, such as Erythromycin, may also affect the way Bilastine is metabolized, leading to higher blood concentrations of the drug, which may increase the risk of side effects. - Medications affecting liver enzymes:
Drugs that influence liver enzymes (such as Ritonavir or certain anticonvulsants) may impact how Bilastine is processed in the body, potentially changing its effectiveness. - Cimetidine:
Cimetidine, a medication used to reduce stomach acid, may inhibit the metabolism of Bilastine, leading to higher levels in the blood.
Alcohol:
While Bilastine is considered less sedating than first-generation antihistamines, combining it with alcohol may increase the sedative effect.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Bilastine should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed, and only under the guidance of a healthcare provider. It is also recommended to avoid using Bilastine while breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor.
Over Dosage:
In case of overdose, symptoms may include drowsiness, rapid heartbeat, and dizziness. Seek medical attention immediately if an overdose is suspected.

ঢাকা শহরের ভেতরে: অর্ডার নিশ্চিত করার ২৪ থেকে ৪৮ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে ডেলিভারি করা হয়।
ঢাকা শহরের বাইরে (সারা দেশ): কুরিয়ার সার্ভিসের মাধ্যমে ২ থেকে ৪ কার্যদিবসের মধ্যে ডেলিভারি করা হয়।
জরুরি ডেলিভারি: ঢাকার নির্দিষ্ট কিছু এলাকায় আমাদের 'এক্সপ্রেস ডেলিভারি' সুবিধা রয়েছে (৩-৬ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে)।
২. ডেলিভারি চার্জ
ঢাকা শহরের ভেতরে: ৬০ টাকা।
ঢাকা শহরের বাইরে: ১২০ টাকা থেকে ১৫০ টাকা (ওজন এবং কুরিয়ার সার্ভিস অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তিত হতে পারে)।
ফ্রি ডেলিভারি: নির্দিষ্ট টাকার (যেমন: ২০০০ টাকা) বেশি কেনাকাটা করলে ডেলিভারি চার্জ সম্পূর্ণ ফ্রি।
৩. প্রেসক্রিপশন যাচাই (Mandatory)
সরকারি আইন অনুযায়ী, যেকোনো প্রেসক্রিপশন ড্রাগ (যেমন- অ্যান্টিবায়োটিক, ঘুমের ঔষধ, হার্টের ঔষধ) কেনার জন্য অবশ্যই বৈধ প্রেসক্রিপশন আপলোড করতে হবে।
প্রেসক্রিপশন ছাড়া এসব ঔষধ ডেলিভারি করা সম্ভব নয়।
৪. কোল্ড চেইন (Cold Chain) আইটেম
ইনসুলিন বা নির্দিষ্ট কিছু ইনজেকশন যা ফ্রিজে রাখতে হয়, সেগুলো ঢাকার বাইরে ডেলিভারি দেওয়া হয় না (মান অক্ষুণ্ণ রাখার জন্য)। তবে ঢাকা শহরের ভেতরে বিশেষ কুল-বক্সের মাধ্যমে ডেলিভারি দেওয়া হয়।
৫. অর্ডার গ্রহণ ও ট্র্যাকিং
অর্ডার প্লেস করার পর আপনি একটি কনফার্মেশন মেসেজ পাবেন।
অর্ডারটি আমাদের অফিস থেকে বের হওয়ার পর আপনাকে একটি ট্র্যাকিং আইডি বা মেসেজ দেওয়া হবে যার মাধ্যমে আপনি পার্সেলের অবস্থান জানতে পারবেন।
৬. পার্সেল গ্রহণ করার সময় করণীয়
ডেলিভারি ম্যানের সামনেই পার্সেলটি চেক করে বুঝে নিন।
ঔষধের পরিমাণ, মেয়াদ (Expiry Date) এবং প্যাকেজিং ঠিক আছে কিনা তা দেখে নিন। কোনো সমস্যা থাকলে তাৎক্ষণিক ডেলিভারি ম্যানকে জানান অথবা আমাদের কাস্টমার কেয়ারে যোগাযোগ করুন।
