Vibeg 75 mg

Indication:

Vibeg is a prescription medicine used in adults to treat the following symptoms of a condition called Overactive Bladder (OAB):

• Urge Urinary Incontinence: A sudden and strong need to urinate followed by the leaking or involuntary loss of urine.

• Urgency: An immediate and strong desire to urinate that is difficult to delay.

• Frequency: The need to urinate very often, usually 8 or more times in a 24-hour period.

Dogase & Adminstration:

• Adults: The recommended dose is 75 mg once daily.
• Administration: The tablet should be swallowed whole with water. It can be taken with or without food.
• Pediatric (Child): The safety and effectiveness of Vibegron in pediatric patients have not been established. It is generally not recommended for children.

Renal/Hepatic Impairment: No dosage adjustment is required for patients with mild to moderate renal or hepatic impairment. It is not recommended for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD).

Pharmacology:

Mechanism of Action: Vibegron acts as a selective agonist for the human beta-3 adrenergic receptor. These receptors are primarily located on the detrusor muscle of the urinary bladder. When activated, Vibegron induces bladder relaxation during the storage phase of the urinary bladder fill-void cycle, which increases bladder capacity and reduces the frequency of involuntary contractions.

Pharmacokinetics:

• Absorption: Peak plasma concentrations are reached within 1 to 3 hours. Food does not significantly affect its absorption.
• Metabolism: It is not significantly metabolized by CYP450 enzymes.
• Elimination: Primarily excreted in urine and feces.

Side Effects:

Common side effects include:

• Headache
• Urinary tract infection (UTI)
• Nasopharyngitis (common cold symptoms)
• Diarrhea or Nausea

Drug Interaction:

Vibegron has a low potential for drug-drug interactions. However:

• Digoxin: Co-administration may slightly increase the serum concentration of Digoxin. Monitoring of Digoxin levels is recommended.
• It does not significantly interact with common CYP450 inhibitors or inducers.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Pregnancy: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. It should be used only if the potential benefit justifies the risk to the fetus.
• Lactation: It is unknown if Vibegron passes into breast milk. Caution is advised.

Over Dosage:

In case of overdose, symptomatic and supportive treatment should be provided. There is no specific antidote.

Therapeutic Class:

Urinary Antispasmodic / Beta-3 Adrenergic Agonist.

Storage Conditions:

Store below at 30°C  temperature in a dry place. Away from light and out of reach of children. Do not use the medication after its expiration date.
